Halloween Boo Hop - Cause we can do it too!

Morning/Afternoon/Evening all - well this has been a long time coming and its finally here - Now as you know there are a number of us around blogland that LOVE Simply B Stamps - but here in the UK Halloween is not something many people get into - so we have decided to do a special hop for the one and only Betty to show her that over here we are trying!!!

So welcome to the hop!

So glad your here!! Now if you have come from
Kelly your on the right tracks - if not you need to pop back to Corinne's blog and start from the beginning!!

This is my first time of participating in a Blog Hop and have to say when I was asked if I would like to join in I couldn't resist and partly because I Love Love Love Betty's Digi Stamps but also because it gave me the opportunity to purchase some more of her gorgeous Digies :)

So here are my creations for the Hop:
First up is my attempt at a plate using Witchy Boo and the Bats from Vertiy Vamp which I coloured with Promarkers -

The hat and Clothes: Orchid, Amethyst, Purple and Lime Green.
Tights, Belt and Bow: Lime Green and Canary.
Hair: Pumpking, Bright Orange and Gold.
Skin: Dusky Pink, Blush and Ivory.

The Cats and Bats: Black, cool Grey 5, Cool Grey 4, then the ears Carmine and Baby Pink (I think).

I cut the image and stuck to the plate with Pritt Stick and then Mod Podged over Twice. Trudie over on the Simply B Stamps Fan Group did a fantastic tutorial which I just had to have a go at so here is my plate in all its glory.

I didn't think it turned out to well but my hubby said the brush strokes of Mod Podge gave more effect of Witchy Boo flying :)

Next up is My Trick or Treat Wall Hanging which I have to admit was a pretty simple put together. I found the already Orange Glittered sign at the Pound Shop.

and then gathered together all the Halloween Coloured Ribbons I had in my stash and tied them in various places. I also found some Glittery Bats amd stars stickers in the Pound shop so used them to fill some more of the gaps.

The hardest part of all this was the colouring as each stamp takes me on average about couple of hours but due to a Torn Cartilage in my Wrist which happens to be my writing hand they took a bit longer.

I decided to colour in: Witchy Wednesday:

Betty Batty:

Punkin Carving Alix:

and Mummy London:

Last of all I added a creepy cool Black Spider also from Pound Land:
Well that's it from me, Thank you for stopping by, feel free to post a comment I love reading them :) and hope you have a Spooktacular Halloween. Now your next Hop is over to the lovely Anda.

Couple of Layouts and Journal Pages

Evening folks, well the last of my three boys is in school full time, So I have the house to myself every day so  I'm attempting to set some time each day for crafting.

First up is a layout of my Niece at Weymouth Beach, I have had this layout on the to finish pile for ages but I just didn't have the right font lettering for the title I had in mind until now.

Thankfully I came a cross these Silver Glitter letters being sold on a craft for sale site on Facebook :)
I thought the title was very fitting " Bathing Beauty"
I used Pink Card Stock for the Base and then some stickers and papers from Echo Park's Splash Collection along with some papers from my scraps box.

Next up is a layout put together using Creative Scrappers 201 Sketch
I put this layout together using papers from my Scrap Paper Box
I quite like how the Layout turned out, even though it wasn't what I had in mind when I set out. I did a bit of inking, scrunching and distressing and a rare thing from me was I used a photo of me and based my journalling on me.

Journalling reads: " 30 yrs today, love to be unique, Love Dragons, Vampires and Crafting. Don't try to be something I'm not. I'm happy being Simply Me!" really wasn't sure what to write.
Journal pages Next. First one I'm not sure it's complete to be honest. If I had a stamped image of Stampotique's Smushasha I'd use that and do some journalling but need to do some saving.

I used Dylusions Ink Sprays Sky Blue and Lime for ghosting and spraying through Crafter's Workshop Circle Explosion, Paint Lids and Black and White, Royal Blue Acrylic Paint and Black Spur Plasterboard Tape.
Bit different for me but love the song Waiting For Forever by Delta Goodrem and the truth behind the lyrics so decided to use the chorus for my Journal page.
The Ink for the background was mop up left over from other projects I have attempted. I tried using  Crafters Workshop Chicken Wire 6x6 template to create a ghosting effect and it worked in some areas.
The journalling I hand drew with pencil and then went over with a Black Promarker and then with my White Paint Pen I added shadow to make it stand out more think it turned out ok.  I used a border from The Further Round The Edge Stamp set by Dyan Reavely and found the skeleton and wings separate through Pinterest and stuck them down in place and again made them stand out by outlining with Black Promarker and White Paint Pen.

The Journalling reads "Why Don't You Stop? Waiting For Forever Forever Might Never Come". And the other side I have written another verse of the song "'cause the now  the now is the only time that matters".

Thanks for looking and as always love reading your comments. So sorry again that I seem to be taking to long between Blog Posts x

Sketch Challenge from Here Come The Boys

Hi a very quick post from me today, off to visit my folks for the rest of the week with the kids but wanted to share my card I worked on last night until 2.30am lol. I did this card based on a Sketch Challenge from Here Come The Boys.
Without further ado here is my entry:

I hand drew the skeleton in a circle for the corner instead of using a star as I wanted something to match the papers I used, which where Base and Matts were the Brown 6x6 sheets from Bayberry Cottage and some papers from Kaisercrafts  Skull Boi Collection. I used a Walnut Promarker to colour in the inside of the Circle.

I Used  Seer drawn by Sureya and Darknessunderthemoon and I used Grass, Sky Blue and cool Grey 3 for clothes and shoes, the same colours for the books and then Yellow and Gold for the hair. And the usual Blush, Ivory and Dusky Pink for skin.

Well love to know what you all think so please feel free to leave comments :)

So here is my last journal page I did and my cards I said I would share. First up a fiery page and I have to say I love it even if it wasn't quite how I planned the page. I was rather upset with a comment made to me during that day and this is how my page came about. My journalling for the page was " Don't Judge Me 'til You Have Walked In My Shoes & Experienced What I Have!" I think most people can relate to this at some point in their life. And I really do believe people shouldn't be judged with out knowing the full facts of that persons life. Loved how the flames turned out. I first used Dylusions Burnt Orange, Pomegranite and a hint of Lime Ink spray and using the Crafters Workshop 6x6 Flames Template I did some ghosting. I ten off setted the stencil on the ghosting and with some Dark Red Paint I dabbed through the stencil, I did the same again with a Lighter Red and then Yellow Paint.

And thought this Digi Image I coloured a while back seemed fitting. She is from Deviant Art. This is Penelope drawn by Sureya and l-Jaycee-l I used Black, Poppy, Sky Blue and blender for the clothing. Black and Cool Grey 3 for the shoes and Poppy, Cocoa and gold for the hair and then the weopens were Cocoa and Cool Grey 3 again. I used blush, Ivory and Dusky Pink for the skin.

Next up are my two cards. Please let me know what you think as not really got into card making before but as I have really got in to colouring images with my Promarkers I felt I needed to make use of them. The first card I used a Sweet Peas Image stamped Dryad Bride. I used: Yellow, Gold, Orange, Magenta, Pine, Terracotta, Grass, Pastel Blue and Powder Blue and also a Blender Pen ages ago and then some papers from a 6x6 paper pad I won in a good bag a while back called Bayberry Cottage. And then I used some paper flowers down the side.

The second card is here, not sure the name of the image I'm afraid but if I find out I will let you know. And again I used Bayberry Papers again and Paper Flowers and some Rhinestones this time.

Really proud of my attempt at the hair in this image to. I used a tutorial by Kimberly Brown.

Well that's it from me for the moment Hopefully get some more projects done real soon to share. Till then thanks for taking a look and look forward to reading your comments.

Hi Peeps, Lets try updating my blog for the second time this evening, anyone else hate the set up for writing new posts? I really don't understand why they have to change it thinking it will make it easier too use when it is certainly not. And I'm no novice when it comes to most computer related things lol. I think I may have to start looking for a new blog home at this rate. So any how, Sorry for being Awol for so long. I had an accident at the end of May and have a broken wrist and bad tissue damage but have to wait till September to see the specialist. I was supposed to be on an emergency waiting list lol. But I have not let the fact of a broken wrist stop me crafting. So here are some Art Journal Pages I have been working on. First up is my page one of my new Moleskin that I treated myself too and I have to say I wish I had bought one sooner. I have know Quote or thoughts as of yet for the page but just wanted to get playing. I used Dylusions Burnt Orange, Hot Pink and Lime inks and used Crafters Workshop Circle Explosion 6x6 template to create ghosting and then I used the Mushrooms and leaves from the Dylusions Doodle Parts and the Birds and Hats from the Dylusions Bits and Bats Stamps I used a Green ink pad to do the leaves and then an Black ink pad to do more leaves and to stamp the rest of the images. I then used a White Paint Pen and Poppy coloured Promarker to colour the Mushrooms.

Second Page is "Stop Dwelling in the past & focus on the Future"
Desperate to play with my new stamps I won I got started by using Dylusions Jade and Lime Spray which I blotted by closing the journal and letting the opposite page soak up the ink. I then used Crafters Workshop Cubist Template to do ghosting. Then finally it was on to using my prizes I stamped Octopode Factory clock backgrounds all over the page (I'm not sure the proper name for the stamp sorry and I'm feeling to lazy to dig it out lol).I then used the Hats from the Dylusions Bits and Bats stamps to create a banner.

I then Gessoed some Bubble wrap and stamped it on to the page. Next up was to colour in Nipper Alfie with my Promarkers.

Third Page - "Do I Look Like An Octopus?!" I was having one of those days where I just felt I was being constantly asked for things all at once days, hence the questions.
For the background I already had the layer of Lime and Jade ink and so I only wanted to give the page a little more colour so I sprayed Hot pink and Burnt Orange through the Crafters Workshop Circle Explosion 6x6 template.

I wanted to add more texture so I used the circle strip of stamps from the Dylusions Around the Edge stamps and using a black Sukura Glaze Pen I went round some of the circles from the Circle Explosion 6x6 template and used my white paint pen through the template too.
I used the wavey shapes from Dylusions Doodle Parts to create Octopus Arms. And coloured them with Promarkers. I have another Art Journal Page and a couple of cards to share but will try and upload them hopefully tomorrow.

Promarker Colouring :)

So someone on one of the crafty selling pages I go on shared a link to there Open Colouring book full of free Manga pictures with the free to colour as long as giving Credit to her and the Artist for the image and only use for personal use. So no selling of images or work used with them. I love Manga pictures but I'm not talented enough to draw any so this site has to be a favourite for me at the moment - Deviant Art. So here are the images I have coloured so far: Here is Penelope drawn by Sureya and l-Jaycee-l I used Black, Poppy, Sky Blue and blender for the clothing. Black and Cool Grey 3 for the shoes and Poppy, Cocoa and gold for the hair and then the weopens were Cocoa and Cool Grey 3 again. I used blush, Ivory and Dusky Pink for the skin.
Next is Jack drawn by Sureya and Chimiiki I used Grass, Poppy, Yellow and Gold for the clothes. Ivory, blush and Dusky Pink for main Jack's skin and Cinnamon and Dusky Pink for the Puppet.
Here is Mahel drawn by Sureya and Cici88 for her I used Orchid, Plum and Antique Pink for the clothes and shoes. For the skin I used blush, Ivory and Dusky pink and then for the Hair, Yellow and Gold.
Last of all to share is Seer drawn by Sureya and Darknessunderthemoon I used Grass, Sky Blue and cool Grey 3 for clothes and shoes, the same colours for the books and then Yellow and Gold for the hair. And the usual Blush, Ivory and Dusky Pink for skin.
I love the nibs they make colouring the really thin tiny areas a lot easier. Hoping to have a go at card making soon and make use of the images.

Brotherly Love

So I have finally finnished a layout based on the Sketch below found from Sketchabilities
Great site it's sketch 68.
I used Echo Parks Little Boy Collection
I Used Texture Paste mixed with Yellow Acrylic Paint and Crafters Workshop Chicken Wire 6x6 template for the bottom left hand corner and top right hand corner.
I used some Papermania Capsule Liquorice Sherbet Letter stickers for the Title.
I stuck the first layers of paper shapes down with double sided tape and then the other layers I used 3D foam tape and inked all the layers to give dimention too.
I created the stars using Star Chipboard and covering in the different Little Boy papers and inking all the edges in black Promarker pen to make them stand out a bit.
The photos are of My Boys messing about on a log on one of our walks. :)
I found this quote and thought it was fitting "All for one and one for all My brother and my friend What fun we have The time we share Brothers 'til the end." ~Author Unknown I tried writing it in pencil first and it was rather neat but going over in Sukura Black Glaze wasn't the best Idea I had as it was a bit thick for small writing.
Thank you to everyone for all the lovely comments, it means alot :) hope you like this layout.
