Afternoon all,
Hows everyone's preparations going for Christmas?
I'm not feeling overly festive this year, it just seems to be one thing after another going wrong, But I think were ready. Still got the Tree to put up which will be hopefully done tonight.

Any way today I decided to have ago at some Reindeer Cakes and my oh my they do look cute even if I do say so myself lol.

Some one over on UKScrappers asked for a simple cupcake recipe and their were quite a few. One being a Cookies and Cream Cupcake recipe using broken up Oreo Biscuits which sounded yummy so I decided to do Broken up Oreo Biscuits too:

Another recipe that was posted was this:
2 eggs, 75g SR Flour, 25g Cocoa Powder, 100g Sugar and 100g Margarine and looked like this once all combined and mixed.

I then put about two Tablespoonfuls into each case on top of the Oreo biscuits.

They weren't in the Oven all that long before they were done :)

Then came the decorating, I iced the cakes in Chocolate Butter Icing and then added Pretzels broken in half for Antlers, Chocolate Button with a cherry on the top for the nose and some White Chocolate Chips for eyes.

Here are my 12 Reindeer Cupcakes Finished.

Journalling Page :)

Techniquely this is my third Journalling page as my second page is uncompleted at the moment.

Whilst washing up I came up with this little saying as I already knew I wanted to have a bird in my page and I'm all ways telling myself this when getting up in the morning:

Today Is A New Day

I had been going through my scraps box the other day and found a bird on branch negative and liked the idea of using it so decided I used texture paste and created this little fellow :) Before it dried I pressed in a Pink Rhinestone for an eye. I mixed in a little Sky Blue ink Spray into the paste and mixed together to make the bird blue :)

I sprayed Jade and Lime Dylusions Ink Spray around the edge of the page and sprayed the middle with Fushia, Hot Pink and Pomegranate Dylusions Ink Sprays.

With my swirly vine template I gessoed some vines on top, then stamped leaves from Dylusion's Round The Edge Stamp Collection around the edge of my page and painted some of the leaves using Kaisercraft Grass Green Acrylic Paint.

and then with some Burnt Orange Dylusion's Ink Spray and some card which I covered I stamped the Circles Stamp from the Dylusion's Round the Edge Collection and cut out some individual circles and stuck them to the page and to make them stand out a bit more I painted Sky Blue Dylusions Ink Spray around them.

Hi Peeps, thought I'd share a layout tutorial with you all today.

I have loved taking part in Shimelles's 4x6 Photo Love and this tutorial has been inspired from her classes.

You will need

9 Landscape Photos
2 Portrait Photos
2 sheets of 12x12 Cardstock
Scissors/ Knife
Ruler
Adhesive
Embellishments
Alphabet Stickers

Instructions

Step 1 - To get started lets prepare the Card Stock, take one sheet and cut a 12x6 strip and 12x2 strip.

Step 2 - Score along the middle of the 12x2 strip and fold in half so it looks like a 12x1 strip

Step 3 - Take your second sheet of Card Stock and with the strip you have just folded stick the bottom with the bend on the left but lining up to the edge of the Card Stock.

Step 4 - Now with the piece folded stick on top the 12x6 piece but again making sure the edge of the bend lines up with the Card Stock. It should look like this:

Step 5 - Now to place the photos. Place 3 Landscape Photos on to the front of the flap and then 3 Landscape Photos on the back of the flapped piece.

Step 6 - And like Shimelle's October 6x4 Photo Love Class lay 3 Landscape Photos to the left side

Step 7 - For the two Portrait Photos Stick only 3 sides, leaving the left side unstuck like in photo:

Also make out of the left over cut Card Stock 2 Journalling cards 4 x 4.5 these will slip in to the pockets you have just created using the Portrait Photos.

Your layout should like this when Flap Opened:

When Flap Closed:

Step 8 - Then it's time to embellish your Layout and a add a tittle and your journalling to your cards which can also be decorated.

So there you go its a scrap attack lol you should have a layout which opens up to reveal more photos or you could even replace one of the Portrait photos with Journalling card if you wanted your Journalling to show. The possibilities are endless lol.

I made these little butterfly layer embellishments aren't they cute :) I will post a how to of these at the end of the post :)

I used a Echo Park's Flutterby paper from the Country Drive Collection as I felt it was fitting as I was in the Butterfly Team on the Retreat :) I cut out some strips and cut out some individual butterflies out some of which I mounted on to 3D foam pads and stuck down and on to the strip and added Holographic stickers on to them to give a bit of sparkle.

For the little butterfly Toppers I used a cut out butterfly from the Flutterby Paper, a Button, Small bit of Ribbon, Some Holographic stickers and a small cut out Hexagon out of the Bee's Knees paper from Echo Park's Country Drive Collection, 3D Foam Pads and Double Sided Tape.

Step 1 - Take the Hexagon and ink the edges with a Black Ink Pad.

Step 2 - Take the strip of Ribbon and stick to the Hexagon with Double Sided Tape

Step 3 - Stick the button Down again with Double Sided Tape on to the centre of the Hexagon & Ribbon.

Step 4 - Then 3D foam pad stick the Butterfly in to the centre of the Button.

Step 5 - last of all stick a middle sized and small sized round Holographic stickers on the the butterfly.

Afternoon peeps, just a quick post today, Felt like making a cake over the weekend and had a bear cake and saw Pudsey on Tv and thought lets make a Pudsey Cake. So here he is in all his glory. (sorry pics were taken of him in my fridge as I was bit scared to move him again lol).

I used Annabel Karmel cake recipe and the Wilton 3D Bear Cake tin.

I Used one and half pots of Betty Crocker's Rich and Creamy Vanilla frosting and some yellow food colouring to do his fur.

For his face I used Brown milky Buttons and for the scarf I used white ready rolled Icing and then coloured Icing which I rolled and cut little circles out of and stuck on using a little bit of frosting.

I think maybe next yr I will make him again and maybe go round the neighbours or something and do a guess the weight to raise money for Children in Need.

My First Inky Journal Page & latest 4x6 Photo Love

I have completed my first ever Inky Journal page:

Got a bit carried away with the Inks lol, ended up spraying a bit from each of the Dylusion Spray inks I own lol, but love how it turned out. :) I used Lily Chiver's Edward Scissor Hands Digi Stamp, been dyeing to use some of these digi stamps they are stunning.

I painted Gesso onto bubble wrap and printed it on to the background and then with Black Acrylic paint painted on to the bottom rim of a deodorant can and printed circles in various places.

I stamped a border using the wavy chequered stamp from Dyan's Around the edge stamps. Next time I think I may stamp then go over with a black marker or black paint and then possibly fill the white sections in with white paint or something as It doesn't seem to stand out to well, maybe that's because its on a darker background.

I had a browse on the net to see what quotes were about along the lines of crafting and came across this one that I liked and felt suited:

Next up is my layout based on the latest 4x6 Photo Love, I didn't have the page protectors and as all my layouts have been going in to a Pizza Box till I have the funds for another album or two or possibly three lol I decided I would just use one piece of cardstock.

I wanted to use the same paper collection I did for my Nothe Fort Layout as We went to Chesil Beach on our way home, so it seemed fitting that this page would go along side it :)

I would have stayed at this beach all day,

The boys loved it too and it was like a little adventure for them being some where we had only ever drove past. I loved how you could see the sea for miles and the amount of stones there were and the stony hill climb then when you get to the top the sea comes in to view :) It really was a wonderful day :)

I used bits from Echo Park's Little Boy and some bits from Bella Blvd's Mr Boy.

it was so peaceful but very windy so used some alpha stickers to record this fact :)

Hi peeps here is my Daily December 2010, I used Echo Parks Everyone Loves Christmas. Instead of overlays I decorated pages using the patterned papers and some of the pages I did embossing and used stickers.

Quick Play with Spray Inks

Hi Peeps, very quick post this afternoon, I have just been so eager to have a go with my Spray Inks as I bought them ages ago and not been brave enough to try. I found this Video on You Tube called Dyan Reaveley - Dylusions Spray Inks Ghosting Techneque and I couldn't resist any longer to give it ago.

So here is my attempt at Ghosting on a Canvas:

And here is my attempt at Ghosting on a journal page, I tore the page out as I wasn't brave enough to do it with my page still in the book lol.

I think the journal page came out a lot better.

I used The Crafters Workshop Swirly Vines stencil and Dylusions Burnt Orange, Fushia, Granite, Hot Pink, Jade, Lime, Pomegranate and Sky Blue Spray Inks which can be bought as a bundle from Art From The Heart

I expect I will do some stamping and try and build up both the canvas and page once my new Dylusions Around The Edge Stamps arrive another purchase I couldn't resist any longer lol :).

I have nearly finished putting my Daily December book together just a few bits to add and then I may share. Oh and I will try to upload my 2010 Daily December too as I haven't shared that yet lol.

Afternoon all I have decided I am no Betty Crocker lol

I came across this fantastic cake made by Ang a couple of weeks back which included a tutorial too, take a look here, she also has some other fantastic creations too :)

What I found cool other than the adorable spider was the Poka Dot effect.

So of course I had to have a go first I made a standard cake using an Anabel Karmel Birthday Cake recipe and added Yellow and Red Food Dye.

Then once cooled I crumbled the cake and combined the crumbs with Rich & Creamy Icing, Vanilla flavour. (Sorry photo not great)

Next was the fun part making the cake pops, We don't have a Baby Cakes Cake Pop Maker which looks awesome, So we used a Kitchen Craft Non Stick Scissor Homemade Meatball Maker. My two youngest Oscar and Connor had great fun making these.

We then made up Betty Crockers Devil's Food cake and place half and whole cake balls in to the mix in the cake tin similar to how Ang did it.

Once cooked I used some more Rich & Creamy Icing, Vanilla flavour mixed with Red and Yellow food dye and covered the cake before adding a layer of White Ready to Roll Icing.

I made a cupcake which I added Rich & Creamy Icing, Vanilla flavour mixed with Black and Red Food Dye and then a couple of green smarties for eyes.

I used chocolate sauce for the web.

Inside the cake it turned out how I wanted and I suppose for a Halloween a messy cake is a good cake lol

Not so great at cutting slices.

All in all the cake didn't turn out too bad, I think If and when I do it again I wont put so much of the Devils Food Cake in to the tin as it took just over an hour too cook :( I wouldn't use chocolate sauce for the web as its just too runny and also I would let the cakes cool a lot longer before adding the frosting and icing. Oh and I would use Ready Rolled Icing too next time as I dislike rolling it myself lol. But it tasted good which is the main thing :)

Hi Peeps, I am Still about and crafting so here is quite a long post today for you all :)

First up is a card I finished today, I don't normally make cards but wanted to have a play with my Cuttlebug Distressed Snow Embossing folder. I had a look for some card Ideas using this folder but didn't find any but think my Card turned out ok.

The stamp is Hamish with a Sleigh from the Sugar Nellie collection, have quite a few Sugar Nellie Stamps and fancied colouring these for a change :)

I used Promarkers as usual: Poppy, Dusky Pink, Blush, Cool Grey 1, Terracotta, Apricot, Sky Blue and Grass to colour the image.

For the background I ran some Blue Cardstock like Bazil Bling through the Cuttlebug Distressed Snowflake Embossing Folder and used a white Ink Pad to go over all the Card after. I then hand sprinkled Heat Up Snowflake Tinsel Embossing Powder to the card and heat embossed to give a bit of sparkle.

I also added some little Circle Holographic stickers to the centre of the Snowflakes to give a bit more needed Sparkle. I then Cut a length of Red Organza Ribbon to add to the White main card and then added the Blue embossed card and with 3D Foam Pads stuck the Image down. I also added some feathery thread to the card too.

The other day my Youngest was trying so hard to kiss me, he loves trying to do this and so I decided to try and capture some photos, They came out well lol.

Rather simple layout for me and the inspiration was from the March 4x6 Photo Love Class over at Two Peas In A Bucket

Struggled a little with the Title and Journalling as I haven't been able to get another Black Glaze Sukura Pen yet. I ended up using a Biro to fill out the date and place Sticker from Bella Blvd's Mr Boy Alpha and Bits on to a chipboard Element from Bella Blvd Mr Boy Chit Chat. And used different Alpha Stickers to do the main Journalling and Title and stuck them on Echo Park's Dots & Stripes Metropolitan Element Stickers but it worked.

Thought this Quote: "Mother's of little boys work from son up to son down." seemed fitting :) it's from Bella Blvd's Mr Boy Alpha + Bits

I wanted a little border down each side of the photos and used Echo Park's Little Boy Borders.

Yesterday despite the rain, Me and my FIL took Eldest two a craft event at our local museum and I thought I'd share their creations. They had such a good time. First up my Eldest wearing his Mask and holding his Spider and Picture and Apple head :)

Todd's Picture was done using printing with halved apples on to chipboard, using different coloured paints.

He made a Black Pom Pom Spider with paper legs and googly eyes (these will look great hanging up)

His apple head on a stick with a dress made of tissue paper and Cloves for it's hair, eyes, nose and ears which will eventually shrink to form grumpy little faces.

And his mask made with a paper plate and stapled/ glued leaves and berries.

Then Oscar with his collection of makes:

Oscar decided to make his Spider red and doesn't he look cool :) Think we shall be making more of these, though they are rather time consuming to form the Pom Pom.

looking forward to the heads shrinking :)

The pictures look stunning and think with a red frame they will both look perfect for hanging.

The people who ran the event are hoping to hold more of these craft days for kids regularly and hoping to get a brochure done so I'm keeping my eyes peeled for these as I think its a great day out for the boys and they love making things.

Last of all for now is a layout I was making to enter in to the Page Maps Studio Purge Sketch Contest Competition It hasn't turned out how I envisioned it but its Ok.

I used mainly Echo Park's Little Boy Collection for this layout

But used a strip of cars from Bella Blvd Mr Boy Traffic Jam Paper and chipboard elements from Bella Blvd Mr Boy Chipboard: Chit Chat and Icons

I used Echo Park's Rock Star (blue side) to back the photos

And I did some machine Stitching round the edge and finished with cut out of the car from Bella Blvd's Mr Boys Cute Cuts as I thought the space looked a bit bare.

My Take on Sept Stretch Your Sketch

Hi, I completed this layout the other day. I decided to have a look at another Free Class over at Two Peas In a Bucket called Stretch Your Sketch

I find it rather hard these days to come up with my own designs and love using sketches but this class shows how you can use the sketch and make it go that one step further, The original sketch was this:

If you go to the class Jen Gallacher shows a video walk through of how she uses the sketch. Mine has turned out even more different from hers and the sketch above, wasn't intentional it just turned out that way due to the supplies I had around me and how I wanted to end result to look.

The photos are of some Meerkats at Marwell Zoo, I was so lucky with the shot of the main photo as the Meerkats were always on the move and when I caught this shot I was so chuffed and it reminded me of the Comparethemeerkat.com site lol. So I had to use the phrase "Simples". It just had to be done lol

The Pattern Paper were from my scraps box so not sure on the name of the papers I used. I attempted more sewing to the layout went round the edge of the main Main Card Stock fine but sewing round each of the Circles proved a bit tricky so I resorted to using My Sukura Pen and doing some fake stitching.

I used Stickers to put in the date and year.

I decided to put the three mini photos to the side as they looked best there and then I sewed round another piece of Pattern paper once stuck on the layout and added a title with Alphabet Stickers.

I'm rather annoyed with my Journalling. As you have probably noticed I adore my Black Embossed Sukura Pen for Journalling. But due to little fingers my pen has miraculously gone missing :( My Middle Son wanted to use it for his homework which I rescued it off of him and put it some where safe and now can't find that safe place lol.

So the Journalling is in a glitter blue ink and doesn't look all that great.

Hopefully I will have another Layout to share with you all later today or tomorrow morning as I have another on the go.

1 Card, Couple Promarker Colourings and Shimelles September 4x6 Photo Love

Hi peeps, A bit of a long post from me today.

First up I went to Stamp N Crafts Stampin' Up Event last Sunday where I had a go with at a Card make and take and this is my Card, It was so simple to make and was a perfect make as it was my MIL's Birthday that weekend so I gave it to her.

The flowers were made using two stamps. The Stems one stamp which I used a green ink and then the leaves were on another stamp and I used a blue Ink. Sorry not sure the names of the stamps and ink colours I'm afraid.

I then used a pricking tool to create some mini holes in each of the corners and a stamp with the saying Happy Birthday.

Done some more Colouring with my Stamps and Promarkers. This Stamp is Sweet Pea's Ching Chou Kuik Stamp - Nocturnal Spirit. I used the Following Colours: Terracotta, Pine, Gold, Grass, Powder Blue, Blush, Dusky Pink and Blender Pen.

And here is Sweet Pea's Ching Chou Kuik Stamp - Red Hearts, Which I coloured using: Buttercup, Gold, Pastel Yellow, Sky Blue, Powder Blue, Leaf Green, Magenta, Yellow and Blender Pen.

Last up is my attempt at Shimelle's September 4x6 Photo Love

For this layout I used Echo Park's Little Boy and the photos were taken on our Visit to Nothe Fort in the Summer Holidays.

I was really brave and tried machine stitching on my Layout and have to say I love it, not sure why it has taken this long for me to have a go and why I was so nervous to have a go lol.

I used letter stickers for the title and date.

I machine stitched the top of the layout and the pocket.

I added a journalling tag in a pocket I made using the the paper behind the title.

More Promarker Colouring

Hi Peeps, First of all I'd like to apologise for my photography I want to show the blending etc of My Promarkers, but for some reason my shots always look as though the image is Stamped on Blue Card Stock but I assure you all that I Stamp on to White lol.

Now first up is My Sweet Peas Sugar and Spice Dragon Stamped Image ( isn't the image just adorable, I LOVE Dragons). I coloured this one using: Leaf Green, Yellow, Pastel Yellow, Sky Blue, Powder Blue and Magenta. I also used a Blender Pen to.

Second Stamped Image is Sweet Peas Moon Fairy. I used: Yellow, Gold, Pastel Blue and Magenta and for Skin Dusky Pink and Blush. I also used A Blender Pen too.

Third Stamped Image is Sweet Peas Moon Garden and I used:

Gold, Yellow, Cyan,Magenta, Grass, Orange and Skin I used Dusky Pink and Blush. I also used a Blender pen too.

My last Stamped Image I coloured this evening is Sweet Peas Dryad Bride. I used: Yellow, Gold, Orange, Magenta, Pine, Terracotta, Grass, Pastel Blue and Powder Blue and also a Blender Pen

Using My New Humphrey's Corner Stamp Free with Papercraft Essentials

Well here's my Second Post of the day :) I bought a copy of Papercraft Essentials the other day, I got drawn to the Magazine after seeing the Free Stamp. I love Humphrey images so when I saw the stamp I thought it was a must lol.

I Stamped the stamp three times on to White Card Stock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad and coloured the images in three colour ways with Promarkers :)

Yellow, Poppy, Grass, Terracotta, Cool Grey 1, sky Blue, Gold and a Blender Pen

I think I will have to have a look in to getting some more Humphrey Corner's Stamps and maybe even have a go at making some cards as my coloured images are piling up lol.

Shimelle's April 4x6 Photo Love & A Layout without the use of a Sketch

Hi peeps, had hoped to post earlier this week but some how I managed to break my keyboard. Luckily hubby has managed fix it.

First up is a Layout I made with out using a sketch and came from my mind, which let me tell you is rare these days lol. For this Layout I used Kaisercraft's Jungle Bug Collection :)

I used the border from the paper called Grubby Gala and cut out a grasshopper from the paper called Beetle Bug which I stuck down with 3D Foam Pads.

I used Some Black Letter Stickers for the title Meet Joe The Grasshopper. My eldest was ecstatic when he found this Grasshopper whilst on a walk with my Mum and his Brothers, It really got him out of his bad mood. When he found it he walked quickly to us and said "Meet Joe"

I was really Brave and had a play with my Alcohol Ink Sprays - Sky Blue and Jade which I had sprayed all over the background Card Stock which I was impressed with, but spoilt it being a little bit more brave. I Cut some letter waste of each letter for Grasshopper and sprayed over hoping to get the title Grasshopper but it went really wrong :( So I ended up covering the area up with strips of Grubby Gala and the Blue Side of Beetle Bug and a little strip with some of the bugs from the paper called Leafy Green.

I also used my Black Sukura Pen to do some False Stitching.

Next up is my take on Shimelle's 4x6 Photo Love

I found some Zoo type card with different animal fur patterns on and inside it had animal stencils too, I had originally bought the pack for the boys.

I layed the relevant animal stencils on top of one another and drew round then on to Black Cardstock and then cut them out and drew inside the outlines using a White Sukura Pens.

Inside I wrote the Journalling on to White Cardstock and cut them in to little strips. I used my Black Sukura Pen for the writing. For the Title I found a font I liked and printed it out then drew round each letter on to Red Card Stock and used my Black Sukura Pen again to do each letter outline.

Morning all, what a really wet day it is here, It's tipping it down.

Today I wanted to share my Card I made at A Promarkers Workshop at Stamp N Craft I had a fantastic time and good natter lol Beth and the team were so nice and friendly if your ever in Yeovil then pop along and visit the shop. I learnt lots of techniques and things I didn't know. I also got to have a play with some Alcohol Inks too, looking forward to having more of a play with them hopefully in the week.

So hear is my card:

Cute little fairy image coloured with Promarkers :)

And the image was mounted on to cardstock and then some white lace that I coloured with a Promarker and 4 Rhinestone Stars placed in each corner which were also coloured with a Promarker which I would have never thought to do :)

I loved the techniques I learnt and couldn't wait to get home and have a go with my new Sweet Pea Jennifer Nilsson's Sugar and Spice Dragon which I bought there :)

Sorry about the red in the photo it doesn't show the shading very well, but I'm rather impressed with her and adore my Blender Pen another purchase :) Think I went a bit Blender happy on the image below on the egg part but think it looks rather cool.

Need to get better at my Stamping though as sometimes my images don't come out hole still :( but I'm getting there.

Sorry I have been rather quiet on the blogging and blog hopping, I have my Eldest's and Youngest's Joint Birthday Party Coming up next weekend so got to get the final bits sorted for that. Made some Cars Pit Passes for invites which I will share with you all soon.

My Take on Shimelle's 4x6 August Photo Love :)

Here's my take on Shimelle's August 4x6 Photo Love I enjoyed making this LO and love the papers I used which were Echo Park's Country Drive Papers.

I used some little black alpha stickers for a little title.

And the main title I used plain chipboard letters which I coloured using a Promarker,

I stuck the letter Y on the actual front page of the layout so when Closed it read the full word other wise it wouldn't have fitted right. I cut some card 8x 4 and folded it in half and stuck it down to create the fold instead of doing Shimelle's way of sewing some sleeves together. I would have done Shimelle's way as it makes sense but I haven't got a album at them moment so my layouts are being stacked in a Pizza Box for the time being.

For the borders I used the Tree side of Echo Park's Country Drive Leafy Tree Tops and then the Little Ladies chequered blue side. :)

I cut out one of the Country Drive's Journalling Cards and wrote the journalling using my Black Sukura Glaze Pen :)

I had been eyeing Echo Park's Country Drive for some time and was lucky enough to get some of the papers along with some other nice papers and gorgeous embellishments in a Grab Box from Handmade Hannah Crafts :) The felt flower was also from the Grab Box :)

First up here is a LO I made at a class at a crop, we were given kits and a set of instructions to make three Layouts with plenty of left overs to make more Layouts if we wished. I managed to make all three on the day, but didn't want to share till I had a photo for the layout. So here is one of them. I had hoped to be able to share the other two, but I ran out of ink in the printer so wasn't able to complete them.

The photo is of Lucky our rabbit who lives with my folks as when we moved the first time there was no where for her and now we own our own house we are still unable to have he because we don't have any grass. But she is a very happy bunny and my folks spoil her rotten with treats, huge run and a double cage :) She is very lucky.

The papers weren't the sort of papers I normally go and buy but that's what I like about classes, they open doors to other possibilities of what you can do. The Cluster of flowers were paper flowers and flowers cut out of one of the papers, then stuck on 3D foam pads to give dimension.

The title was done using letter stickers but I went round them once stuck with a Black Embossed Sukura pen to make them stand out. I like the paper under the title as it gives a fantastic look of false stitching.

we created a pocket for a tag by only sticking three sides of the mounted photo down.

The tag was nice for some hidden journalling.

Ok So when you read the title of this post you must have thought there was a type error but No you ready right. Here are some of my Layouts from Scrap-a-mia 2010. First up is my attempt at Claire's Class (owner of Creative Moments)

I loved this class, we got to choose our background Card Stock and choice of Patterned Paper and then were given the embellishments and other papers.

I loved using the Rhinestone template and the effect after all the Rhinestones were placed :)

We used an Electric Big shot and Bird die to make some Bird Embellishments. And we also cut some flowers too. I stuck mine on the Pouch and put a chain and little metal birdcage on too :)

The Papers behind the photos were given a bit of distress around the edges to give it a bit more dimension which I think looks fantastic :) When I distress papers I'm always nervous of going wrong and wasting paper though I love the technique :)

I had To finnish the outside of the layout so here is what I did yesterday:

I wanted to keep with the outside looking similar to the inside so built up the layers of papers in the same way and added the same embellishments.

One thing I had never thought of using on a layout was serviettes/ tissues, such a fantastic idea though glueing it down was a little difficult. Only tip I can share is know where you want to stick and glue straight on to the paper you want to put it on and lay the tissue down and rub it gently so it sticks.

For the birds I used Rhinestones for eyes :)

Next up is My attempt at Ifa's Class:

I loved the simplicity of this layout which consisted of some paint inked round the edges

Last to show you all is my Canvas from Cleo's Class :) I loved how this turned out and would have never come up with this idea on my own.

It was rather fiddly cutting all the frames out but well worth it, they were stuck down with 3D foam pads for dimension :)

The photos are of my youngest pulling faces :)

we had some little paper flowers to add on the canvas and I stuck a few paper Butterflies that I cut out on them.

For the Canvas we tore up some musical note papers and glued them all over the canvas once dry we used some tissue to spread over thinly some white paint and then used some sequin wastage and light turquoise shimmer paint dabbed over to give a little colour.

My Take on Shimelle's 3rd August Weekly Sketch

Well I went Pink which is unusual for me as first of all I am such a tomboy and secondly because I have three boys lol. My layout is based on Shimelle's 3rd of August Weekly Sketch.

I used Kaisercraft La Di Da Collection which can be bought at Merly Impressions my favourite shop for all your Kaisercraft needs.

I used Sing - La Di La for the background, but as I liked both sides I decided to cut the paper in to thirds and then stick the plain side with borders to the top and and bottom of some Plain Card Stock and for the middle piece I turned the border side over and stuck the green side to the middle of the Card Stock.

I journalled using my Black embossed Sukura Pen and with one of my free Flower Stamps from a Magazine I added a little line of flowers as I thought the space looked a little odd.

I punched out a Scalloped border for the top and bottom of green section and mounted the photos on to some Turquoise-ish Card Stock that I had in my Scrap Pile, and as they looked rather plain and didn't really make the layout stand out I doodled on the Scallop border and did some fake stitching around the photo.

I cut out some of the various sized flowers from the Skip La Di Da paper and again doodled on them to make them stand out more and stuck them down in clusters using 3D foam pads.

I then put one of the flowers in the Top Left corner too :)

Now on to the font Dilemma, I wanted a sparkly font, but I didn't have any and it is one product I have a lack of. I asked the wonderful ladies of Ukscrappers for help and what they did about lettering and had some wonderful responses and even attempted printing the title on to Acetate but it didn't work for me, So I persevered with printing the title on to plain paper and cutting all the letters out and it worked I think the letters look fine and I love the font.

I didn't add glitter in the end as I didn't want to spoil the letters and they looked fine without.

Instead as I had so much blank space I felt it needed some colour so luckily I found the right colours I needed in inks which again is an product I don't have many of lol. I used another free flower stamp again from the same magazine and then once dry I added Star Dust Stickles and some Rhinestones. I also added some Rhinestones to the cluster of flowers and the flower at the top of the page.

All in all the Layout turned out Ok, my stamping could have been a little better but they weren't clear stamps they were the rubber ones mounted to foam so its hard to see positioning.

I was really impressed when I saw this class July's 4x6 Photo Love as I had wondered how we were going to fit 7 4x6 Photos on a layout and I'm getting really excited to see the other classes as I have a build up of photos from our trips out this holiday :)

So here it is my attempt:

I chose photos of some butterflies I took at The New Forest Wildlife Park and although I had pictures of a lot of other animals we saw there I felt the Butterflies needed a page of their own. I also included a photo of my eldest two as it seemed fitting as they were there and the photo of them was taken in the Butterfly House.

I put the photo of the boys on the top so it would be shown first on my folded Cardstock strip

Here is my folded cardstock strip opened upwards :)

I decided to use a Journalling sticker from Echo Park's Splash pack and then decided as the space beside where I stuck it looked a bit bare that an embossed butterfly with spiral beside it would fit in with the Butterflies I put to the side of the layout.

I used Thickers for my main title and then some Letter Stickers from my left overs of Echo Park's Everybody Love's Christmas

I added the couple of butterflies to the side, I Cut and Embossed a Butterfly using my Big Shot (really should use more) and added some pearls too them and then using a spiral template I stuck some Silver Rhinestones in a spiral :)

I love how this Layout turned out :)

Shimelle's Explore Class, I am playing along but slowly lol

Hi peeps I was lucky enough to win a place on Shimelle's new class Explore which you can sign up too on her Blog. The Class Started Monday last week so I'm currently playing catch up as it has been a rather emotional and stressful couple of weeks.

Part of the first Prompt was to make a Play Book so that has been what I have been focusing on today. Here are the photos I have chosen which I have taken when going Exploring round where I live :)

Second Part of the Prompt was to take a Self Portrait with our Camera in the shot. This was the hardest part as I don't take photos of myself and I don't really like photos of me either but I have to say these shots didn't turn out to bad, I had to do a bit of editing to make the photos lighter. The First photo of me is the one I chose for my Playbook.

I am playing along but very slowly, had an issue with my Computer and nearly lost everything as I didn't even get a chance to back up. But thankfully hubby as rescued everything. Just need to sort out getting everything put back on to the computer.

Hi Sorry for the blog neglect, it has been a rather hectic week and I have been feeling rather down in the dumps. :(

I have managed to complete this LO based on Shimelle's 4x6 Photo Love June Class unfortunantly I had intended on making this a double LO but after starting on the First side I realised I didn't have the same colour Cardstock for the Backgroud.

Also I ventured off the sketch a bit as I did my borders using Mr Boy "Traffic Jam" (Green side) with circles on which I then punched holes in the middle of each one using my Crop-o-dile and then added Eyelets. I then wove ribbon in and out of the eyelets and stuck them on a wider piece of Mr Boy "Dinomite" Patterned Paper (Red side).

I used this Techneque for both the Top and Bottom borders and love how they turned out despite how fiddly and time consuming they were to do.

I used a Yellow Scolloped border sticker for the bottom of the layout too as it looked a bit to much of an empty space at the bottom with out it. For the blocks I used the Dinosaur part of the Mr Boy " Quadrants" paper.

I used Mr Boy Chipboard "I love you" and " I can sometimes resist temptation, but never mischief" as I felt this fitted my boys and would work better on a layout based on the three of them :)

I think this has got be another favourite layout for me and was nice to have a play with eyelets and my Crop-o-dile that don't really get to come out. :)

Well I finnished my attempt at Shimelle's Sketch of the week 29th June 2011.

I wouldn't say this is my favourite Layout. I ran out of letters but came across a little Tutorial by Helen using Sticker waste to make titles.

I Inked all of the edges of the Cardstock and Papers I used in Black Ink and on the background piece of cardstock I used bubble wrap and printed Green Acrylic paint around the edges.

I distressed the Brown Card Stock to give it some dimension and Inked the edges with Black Ink, I painted the Green Paint round the edge to.

Evening peeps, Today I bit the bullet and printed off my first ever Digital Stamps and had a proper play with my New Promarkers. The photos aren't fantastic due to the light this evening but I'm impressed with the results.

So here are my Digi Stamps in all their glory, First up is Alice:

Sorry no Layouts too share though I have two to get on with so hope to post soon. But I wanted to share this Poster for a new Challenge Blog . I have only recently come across The Octopode Factory and have to say I'm in awe of Lily Chilvers Digi Stamps, some can be purchased as actual stamps. I have bought a couple of Digi Stamps from her Etsy and can't wait to have a play I just desperately want to get some Alcohol inks though because I love the effects and techniques I have seen using the inks and Stamps :)

The first challenge was posted yesterday so head on over and have some fun :)

My Take on ATDML's Third class :)

Ok my Layout didn't quite follow ATDML's Third class, I started off trying to make my own kinda rays using Red Card Stock and that's where mine started to differ but I liked it and decided to mount on Black Card Stock.

I then found a photo of my Eldest in his Super Hero costume (which I now notice I have spelt the word hero wrong lol, will try and amend later ) I remembered I had some Comic type papers called Shazaam by Rusty Pickle that I had won along time a go and cut a super hero pic and a speech bubble I stuck everything down with 3D foam pads.

I then cut a square out of one of the Yellow sided papers and inked the edges and did the journalling using a Sukura Pen Black Glaze ( my favourite Pen to journal with :) )

I was really stuck with how to do my title and ended up using some chipboard letters and colouring each of them with a Yellow Promarker. Sorry about the photo it's not great due to the light.

Hi Guys, Here's my take on Shimelle's Sketch of the Week 22nd June

I dug through my pizza box of Scrap papers to put this LO together, It turned out a little bit busier than the sketch but then I think that's due to my style lol

I used a lot of foam pads to give the layout dimension and I used card push out waste to :)

The foam butterflys looked a bit bare so I added little rhinestones to give a little bling.

The journalling is about how I ended up making the Bunnies in the photo :)

ATDML First Class Attempt :)

Evening everyone, What a really wet day were having here. Well other than the School Runs and my Driving lesson I have been indoors in the warm working on my Attempt at A Trip Down Memory Lane's first Class of their first Cyber Crop :)

The classes are all stunning and when I printed off the first class I was rather nervous of how my attempt would come out as I really don't like measuring lol.

I decided to use my Bella Blvd Mr Boy Collection for this LO and have to say it worked out well, I'm Quite pleased with the result.

I didn't want to cover all my background card stock up with patterned papers, So once I had stuck down the strips I cut some patterned paper squares out smaller than the box and inked the edges and stuck them down and placed Mr Boy Chipboard on top I did this for all four corners :)

For the middle I used more Mr Boy collection and another piece of plain card stock and covered in more patterned paper from the collection and used a brad and little tab thing (can't remember the name sorry)

The middle is made similar to how you make the box part of an Exploding Box :) And have to say it's rather effective, I wouldn't of come up with this LO on my own lol.

So that's the first LO of the twelve classes I'm hoping to work through having a go at. If you would like to have a go, then take yourself off here and have fun x

Evening all, First before I show off my newest LO I would like to say a huge thank you to Everyone's kind comments, they mean a lot and give me enthusiasm to continue with my hobby so keep them coming I love reading them :)

So here is my latest LO, My take on Shimelle's June 15th Scrapbook Sketch of the Week :)

The photo is of Willow - My middle Son's Adopted Penguin at Weymouth Sea Life Centre. I used some scraps of papers left from Echo Park's Everyone Loves Christmas.

I bought a Scalloped Border Punch at the weekend which I was desperate to use and decided I wanted to give the a layout a bit of 3D look so I mounted some of the borders on to foam pads. I inked all the edges with black ink to make them look less flat once stuck down.

As I wanted the title to stand out and Willow's tag was red I decided to use some plain white chipboard letters for the Penguin's name and coloured each letter red with a Promarker :) and then for the journalling I used Echo Park's Everyone Loves Christmas letter stickers.

I decided the sides of the Penguin photo looked rather plain so mixed some Green Acrylic Paint and Silver glitter glue together and painted around the edges :)

Hi peeps, Today I have been having ago at Class One of Shimelle's 4 x 6 Photo Love :)

The photo is of my Youngest who decided for Halloween he didn't want to wear his Monster Costume I had made him but instead wanted to wear his Skeleton Costume and the Deeley Boppers I had bought to go with the Costume I made.

I decided I wanted some Dimension to the Layout so I had a go at making some flowers using a Flower Tutorial over at Scrapping Tonight. I haven't attempted really to make paper flowers before but I like how mine turned out and they are really simple and easy to make that I'm not sure why I put off having a go other than I don't do girly Layouts really lol

I used Bo Bunny Whoo-ligans range, I love the colours and cuteness of this range and when I first saw it come out I knew I had to get it :)

Wow a third post today for you all, that's a rarity for me lol. But I wanted to share with you all my boy's Canvas paintings they have done today.

First up is My Eldest Todd

He has gone for a Beach scene and he has painted Me and Daddy and himself :) I love the colours and I love the Beach :)

Next is my Middle son Oscar,

This painting reminds me of an Artist but I can't think who right now lol. When I asked Oscar what the painting was of he said they were lots of doors and Me and Him were at the bottom going through them all to try and get to the top. :)

And last of all my little man Connor,

He hasn't said his painting is of but it still looks cool to me :)

I have little budding artists in the making and it was really nice to see them being creative and having fun, I will be defiantly doing this activity with them again soon :)

The Canvas came from the £1 shop along with the Acrylic Paints included and I thought perfect when I saw them and I'm so glad I got them.

Here's my finished attempt at February's 4x6 Photo Love. I used Bella Blvd's Mr Boy kit. The photos were of my Middle Son wanting to be just like me when I used to carry my youngest in his Nubigo.

I thought my attempt looked rather flat and I have run out of my Black Sukura Pen, so couldn't do my fake stitching I had wanted to do, so decided to have a go at giving the layout some dimension by adding rolled up paper. Once I had done that they kept unrolling so I decided to add some ribbon but putting a slit at each end of the rolled paper and thread some reddish brown ribbon through and stick each of the ends on the back of the LO.

I wanted to use the Chipboard Heart from the kit but felt it didn't quite look right or stand out so added some yellow ribbon to it and stuck it on to the LO using 3d foam pads.

I feel I'm on a roll and inspired since joining in with the 4X6 Photo Love over on Two Peas In A Bucket, there are other free classes which I may attempt one day, but at the moment I don't want to make my hobby a chore with lots of to do and finish lists as I feel that may have been some reason I lost my Mojo for this craft.

Here is my March 4x6 Photo Love attempt :)

I used some Kaisercraft Topaz Rhinestones, some large green fabric flowers which I cut in to quaters and stuck in place.

I stuck a Blank Note Card on with 3d foam pads and used a black bird cut from card stock.

I used Heidi Swapp Care Free - School Stripe Card Stock for the background as I loved the swirls. To be honest I wasn't sure how to use this Card Stock so I gave it some glitz using Star Dust Stickles, which I added to the Flowers, to the Ribbon and the bird also :)

I added a strip of Ribbon down the Right hand side as I thought it looked a bit bare with out.

Hope to attempt another LO today, but will see how the day goes what with Half Term lol.

Wow were in to June already, this year is going fast. Well with the help of a page maps I created this LO, Simple but was desperate to create a LO using Bella BLVD's All Boy collection. I just love the bight colours and is perfect for those boy LO's and what with having three boys in my family I this kit is perfect and so versatile :)

Recently when looking at Shimelle Laine's Blog I came across her free 4x6 Photo Love with video walk through I thought this was perfect to get me scrapping again. This is my first ever Double LO and think it turned out rather well. I used Echo Park's Splash Kit, another kit I was desperate to get as I have quite a few beach photos and recently some photos of the boys playing with their water guns. :)

There are 3 classes up so far so I thought I'd join in and catch up :)

Hi folks, its been along time. I think my Mojo was in order for a stern telling off lol but think it may be back, will have to see lol.

I decided to do some blog hopping over the time of my absence to see if I could get any inspiration along with some motivation to get back in to crafting. On looking I found that alot of people have taken to doing Art Journals and decided I'd like to have a go :)

It's early days but I've found doing the pages I have so far that I'm wanting to get scrapping again :) So anyway here are the pages I've done so far for my Art Journal :

My first page was Hope - I was feeling rather positve that day and felt things were coming together for me, so this page portrays my hopes and I need to be more positive in life. I did a watercolour back ground and used a black felt tip and whisper pens.

My second Page, well lets just say since my decision to get back to my driving lessons, haveing a car is all that has been on my mind lol I've always had a dream of having a sporty family car with metalic blue running into metalic green and then either a tribal or dragon design down the side. I have another idea for colours too which I may do a page to show eventually which is a black sporty car with flames around the bottom and bonet. I like different.

I did the page using chalks as a base then black pen round edges and I used my whispers pens again (finally putting them to use).

Page 3, Inspired after looking at a tatoo magazine (love tatoo designs but wouldn't get a tatoo, not brave enough either lol) saw the Angle wings and it reminded me of how I was so good at school and in general, did everything I was told and had my future planned. But came 18 and things changed. Hubby says this page is cheesey but so what lol.

I used chalks for the base and black pen and Whisper pens for the rest.

Page 4, This page came from Just the feeling of never having enough time and Im sure everyone feels like this at times.

I used green watercolours for the background and as usual my black pen and Whispers pens.

My last page to show you is my bird one, I love my drawing I found a picture after googling where the artist used watercolours, I used colouring pencils to copy it as I wanted to record in my journal of how I rescued two starlings and also that day I did this page I rescued one and released it only to witness a cat come out of know where trying to get it. Not sure the poor mite escaped or not but I felt so sorry for it.

So that's it for the time being but Im sure I will have more to share soon.

Just a quick two LOs from me today, first up is my LO of our Giant African Land Snail, Ok he/she isn't giant as of yet, but he's growing fast.

I used a snail stamp and a pearl embossing powder and some bug paper

I wrote on some card and stuck it onto 3D foam pads and I also mounted the photos on to green cardstock.

Next and last up is my LO I spent all of yesterday putting together for the UKscrappers February Challenge to use the sketch posted and include fabric or fibre on the LO. So this is what I came up with.

I had a lot of fun playing with my Clear Ink Pad and Red Glitter Embossing Powder. I even had a play with stamping and embossing on a strip of plain white cotton. The effect came out well. Once I had heat embossed the fabric I ran it over with a Canery Chalk Ink Pad to give a bit of colour.

I used wooden letters for the title which I coloured Yellow using My Whisper Pens and then Clear inked some bubble wrap which I had stuck to an Acrylic Block and stamped it on to the letters and poared Red Glitter Embossing Powder over, tapped off the excess powder and heat embossed each letter. I was also impressed with the effect.

I used Bubble Wrap printing again around the edges of the cardstock using Yellow paint and then Heat Embossed with the Red Glitter Embossing Powder again.

So that's it for now.

Hi peeps been along time, thought I'd share some pics of what I have been up the past week. I have been organising my Middle Son's Birthday Party :) He wanted a Penguin theme so I booked a party to be held at a Local Soft Play Center caller Coolplay, as it had a North Pole setting and made a Penguin Birthday Cake.

The cake Started of it's life as a bear, Using a wilton 3D cuddley bear pan and 3 mixtures of an Annabel Cake recipe, which I love, as do the family.

I was very worried that the cake wasn't going to make it out of the pan one piece as I had tried it making the cake once before and it didn't work. This time round I bought some Cake release which worked a treat :)

I then cut of the bears ears and made some butter icing in a black, white and yellow. and I used 2 chocolate buttons with Jelly Tots stuck on with writing Icing.

For the wings I used black Icing that I rolled out and cut to a wing shape. And for the Beak I used yellow Icing and molded it into shape. I then attached the Wings and Beak to the body using cocktail sticks :)

I also made up some little boxes for the cake to be taken home in. Helen over at http://itsallfiddlefart.blogspot.com/ was really kind and cut me some boxes using her bigshot XL box die and kindly let me use her idea for my boxes :) Mine are slightly different as I used my snowflake embossing folder to give the snow part some texture and used stickles to give a bit of sparkle. I was a bit late in buying some penguin stickers like the ones Helen used, But was lucky to find some other penguin stickers in Poole Gallery in Poole.

All 8 boxes made up :)

I found these fab 3" plastic cups for 85p each for the party bags, so I bought 10. But as only 8 friends came me and hubby have a cup each of our own now lol

I also asked my MIL to pick up some bubbles and chocolate penguins for the party bags too and she got some little jungle puzzles where you mix the picture and then try and get it back to normal again.

I found the poem some where online and adjusted it to suit the invitation :)

Everyone had fun and loved the party bags and little cake boxes and the staff at Coolplay said they thought the cake looked fab and thought it was store bought lol. I definantly need to improve my icing skills though as I think it could been a little better.

Punky Scraps Challenge 1 Entry

Evening peeps, Just a quick Layout to show you all :) It's my attempt at challenge one over at Punky Scraps, a new challenge blog that has just started up which can be found here: http://www.punkyscraps.blogspot.com/

The challenge was to use 3 or more of the items from the list so I went with White Cardstock, Buttons, Paint and Cardboard.

I used Blue & Black Acrylic paints and some Orange distressing paint which cracks once it drys and painted onto bubble wrap and printed on to the cardstock.

I mounted the title which I typed out using a font called Acidic onto Corregated Card which I inked the edges in Blue, Also before printing I inked the paper with Green and Blue ink.

Xmas Crafting

Evening All, Hope everyone has had a fab Xmas and those of you that were unwell over xmas are recovering quickly. As promised to some of my Crafty Buddys I have finally managed to upload my pics of some of my Xmas makes.

Unfortunantly due to my whole family falling ill and me hurting my knee due to slipping up in Ice and ending up on crutches Christmas didn't go to plan, hubby was laid up in bed with the flu, youngest had a nasty fever and tummy ach to the point NHS Out of Hours asked us to take him to the local hospital for a check up, so that was xmas morning taken up and my other two boys were unwell but were up and about. So rather tireing for me as I had to play nurse and keep MS and eldest entertained and keep the noise down lol. So needless to say we didn't get to use the table cloth or napkins :(

First up is the table cloth, I was lucky to have a friend who worked at the local laundry cleaning factory that I worked out and he managed to pick me up a plain white table cloth and some napkins. They are fab as the factory can't reissue them out as they have stains, even a spec on or sewing is slightly wrong so they go into a pile called ruins :) So basically I have done some good recycling :)

This project was very time consuming and sore on the hands as I decided to tie dye all the fabric. I gathered up the material and did alot of ties, then put all the fabric in for a spin wash which losened the ties so I had do a lot of retying and then put them in the washing machine Drum along with the Blue dye my middle son had chosen.

The table cloth didn't turn out as well colour wise but middle son was happy with it :)

To do the penguins I used a template from the Penguin Paper Chain pdf found here http://www.ichild.co.uk/tags/browse/106/Winter . I printed the template of the full penguin in Black & White and put the template under some plain white curtain fabric and traced the template using a pencil. I covered a half meter of the fabric with drawings of the penguins and then roughly cut around them and Fabric Painted each one using Black, Red and Yellow as my colours. Once I had all the penguins painted and they were dry I neatly cut them out and Ironed them to set the paint.

I then put the Table Cloth on to the Table making sure it look right as It was rather large and then fabric glued all the penguins on all around the edge and some dotted about in the middle.

My Napkins on the other hand turned out really well, you can see where I tied, Just how I had hoped the table cloth would look but never mind.

I left the Napkins as was and just folded them several times and made Penguin Napkin rings using the Pdf Penguin Paper chain Black and White Penguin template again.

I drew round the penguins on to Black Card and then cut out the hat and scarf seperatly and drew round them on to Red glitter card and then for the beak and feet I cut them seperatly from the template and drew round them on to Yellow card and stuck them in to place. The beak I stuck on with 3d foam pads to give a bit of dimention. I only made five of these.

I added details using a Black permant marker pen and stuck the Penguins using double sided tape on to strips of Red Card which were looped round the napkin to create rings.

Was going to make some xmas crackers but found some left over that I made from last year.

I made some Cakes and Mini Mince Pies with the boys a day before xmas eve and they turned out fab and tasty. My youngest loved making these and seeing him smile and wanting to get involved just made me feel all the more happier and I felt so sorry for him when we had ran out of ingredients as I'm sure he would of loved to keep making more.

He especially loved adding the stars to each of the Mince Pies.

And adding Icing Stars to the Cakes along with Cherries on the top :)

We also made a Christmas Cake using Tesco Xmas Cake kit which was really simple and quick to put together just took just under 3 hours to cook in the oven. So not good for the key meter.

And I decorated the cake with Ready Rolled white Icing and a ribbon and flower decorating kit which was the fiddley part. But the cake tasted good which is the main thing.

So there was my attempt at crafts ready for xmas. The Table Cloth, Napkins and Napkin rings aren't going to go to waste as my Middle Son's Birthday is coming up and he loves penguins and wants a Penguin themed Birthday so we will use the bits then. :)

Santa's Magic Key Tutorial

Evening all, been a while so I thought I'd make up for it by giveing some step by step instructions on how to make a Magic Key for Santa :) If you have kids like me and you don't have a chimeny then they will love it. Or even if you don't have kids it's fun to make :)

You will need:

Scissors/ Craft Knife
Glue
Chipboard
2 different colours of Tissue Paper
Embossing Powders
Heat Gun
Stamps
Inks

Step 1, Go here: http://www.dltk-kids.com/t.asp?b=m&t=http://www.dltk-kids.com/crafts/pirates/images/bkey.gif and save the picture of the key. This is the template I used. I opend the image in Paint and cut and pasted the image into word and enlarged it so it fitted a A4 peace of paper, which was rather fiddley and I'm sure there is an easier way lol.

Step 2 Once you have your printed key cut it out and draw round it on to chipboard.

Step 3, Cut your Chipboard Key out. (soz bout the pic for some reason it wouldn't load up landscaped :( )

Step 4, Get your two peaces of tissue paper and cut strips and then in to squares, you will only need just under half a sheet of each sheet.

Step 5, Glue down your squares of tissue papers on to the key so they over lap one another, this is quite messy but fun :)

Then it's the boring part of waiting for it to dry, I speeded it up by putting the key on to the radiator for a bit, then heat gunned it for a bit. (if you decide to heat gun it be careful that you dont burn the key).

Step 6, Crack open your embossing powders, get your stamps and inks out and your heat gun and have fun Because now is the time for decorating :)

I Decorated mine using Silver glitter embossing powder and white snow embossing powder and star and snowflake stamps.

I then tied some feathery Blue and White thread on to the end :)

Just a quick Post for now just to say look at what goodies arrived today :) I put in an order on Sunday with Craft Island as I wanted to get some bits to so I could start my BOM as I need to play catch up and I came across some other bargains too :) Can't wait to get some crafty time. Got a few bits to get started.

GB Cyber Crop Class

Just the one Layout to share this evening, My take on another GB Cyber Crop Class over on Ukscrappers. I made the circles and Ice Cream using old scraps of paper from my Scrap Box and I inked each circle with black ink so they stood out better.

For the Ice cream I used some cream hand made paper stuff which I backed on to white Card Stock for extra strength, I used Glossy Accents on the Ice Cream part to give it a bit of shine, not really used it before so wasn't sure how it would turn out but it turned out ok. :)

I seem to be on a roll with scrapping, trying to get at least one Layout done a day :)

Halloween Prep and GB Class LO

Finished my attempt at the Green Buttons Cyber Crop - Use your Scraps challenge over on Ukscrappers. love the way the layout turned out but feel in away I ruined it by drawing in the letter Ts for the title, but didn't really have a choice as I desperatly wanted to use my lettering stickers and the Ts wouldn't have fitted and I only had one when I need two. And I wanted to complete the layout so I could move on to another lol. Had fun using my scraps and as I have a whole Pizza Box full I'm desperatly trying to get through useing them all :)

I have a clear album that I haven't used yet and decided to draw round one of the flourishes on to scrap black cardstock and use my white Sukura pen to do false stitching, with out them think the Layout looked to plain.

Next up is my cakes, I used an Annabel Karmel Birthday cake recipe to make up the mix which was enough for these ghosts which didn't look as good as Annabel Karmels but sure tasted good :)

And this spider Sandwhich cake which we have yet to tuck into, may have a slice in a bit me thinks hehehe.

And here are my three boys dressed up in the costumes and masks I made for the Space Party :) they did turn out well. Eldest and Middle Son had a fab time at the party and werent fussed about going trick or treating which was great.

As youngest was unable to go to the party due to his age I took him Trick or Treating but only to a friends and to my parents in law and a couple of houses that we knew, and he wanted to take his alien costume off and where a skeleton one instead, but insisted on wearing his deeley boppers which made him looke even more cute bless him.

Sewing, Mask Making & Craft Time With My Boys

Hi guys, had a bit of crafty time with the boys today. We made what middle son calls stick men lol. I bought three small woolen mop sticks for 29p each and a couple of packs of face feature stickers for 99p and a pack of pipecleaners for 99p a while back in a local shop and finally got round to getting them out and helping the boys to make their stickmen. Here is Middle son with his:

Can see the boys wanting to make a stage next for their stickmen, better keep my eyes peeled for the perfect box lol.

Well finally I can reveal what I have been making all week , can you guess what the bucket of newspaper choppings are for?.................yep you got it, its for papermache.

I got three balloons and blew them up to the same size of each of my boys faces and covered half of the balloon in the papermache and last of all modroc and set them aside to dry.

Once the modroc had hardened I popped the balloon, but I felt that it needed a layer of modroc inside too to make it more stronger.

The mask at the ready for decoration:

I painted each of the masks in stripes to go with their costumes. Eldest - Blue and Green, Middleson - Orange and Green and youngest a mix of all three colours - Blue, Orange and Green. I then covered the masks in glue:

I want to try and get hold of some sequin waste to use in the eyes, but if can't get hold of any then I don't think it matters to much. Here is the eldest with his Costume on, I made his a jumper style top and managed to get some fab Deeley Boppers in Claires Accessories :)

Here is my middle son with his costume on, I made him a tabbard style costume. Still need to stick the velcro to the sides and I have a pair of knee high socks in Orange and Green that I'm going to cut the toes part off for fingers and make a whole for his thumb. :) Got him some pink Deeley Boppers, Well truth is he choose them and they worked well so I got them.

Here's Middle son again but without his mask:

Last up is my youngest, again I made a tabbard style costume basically because they are easier to make and I found Eldests a bit of a struggle to make. Like middle son's costume I still need to put the velcro on the sides. Youngest also has some Deeley Boppers in white to wear.

I also need to add some elastic to the masks so they stay on without haveing to be held.

I found a leaflet advertising a Space Theamed party at the Christian Centre for School aged children in Eldests book bag and decided to put Eldest and Youngest's name down for it :) Unforunantly my youngest isn't old enough to go and I didn't want him to feel too left out so I made him a costume too.

Well the boys are going to Party on the 31st and its Space Theamed, So when I found this pattern I thought it was perfect.

Unfortunantly I struggled to choose a Fabric that would look good and to make three costumes, one each for the boys it would have become to costly. And also my mum thought I had bitten off more than I could chew. So It was back to the drawing bord and I didn't want to leave the fabric shop til I knew what I was going to do as I wasn't sure I'd get to come back if I had needed too as I don't drive. So here is what I have bought :) Watch this space as I'm not going to say what I'm going to do its a surprise hehehe :) let the guessing begin.

Decorating :)

Hi guys, Here's my reason for why I haven't done any scrapping this week. I took on the challenge of decorating my youngests room. Here are some pics of the bedroom as the blank canvas and ready to start.

The painting is done and It's onto the border.

finally fourth day and I finnished :)

One fab Thomas the Tank Engine bedroom equals one very happy excited little boy :)

I'm so pleased with how Connor's room turned out, this being my second attempt at decorating lol,I had to ask a friend to come over and help do the Thomas border as I had never done one before and it was a non adheasive so didn't want to mess up but other than that I did it all on my own. And what makes me more happy is Connor loves it :)

UKS Cyber Crop LO

finished Alex's today, I didn't do everything the same as I didn't have all the stash I needed. But I think the LO turned out ok.

I used some chipboard flowers that I cut using a bigshot some time a go at a crop and inked each flower black and then for the bottom one heat embossed it with a red embossing powder

and for the top flowers and all the big daisy flowers I heat embossed with a red glitter embossing powder

I used a white flower brad for each centre to attach the flowers to the page.

Penguin Costume & Mini Book

Hi peeps, just a couple of things to share, but as the day goes by there may be more depending on how much crafting I get done today lol. Currently got youngest pretending to be a doctor and me being the patient as I type lol.

Well here is my penguin costume I made for middle son. It's typical of me to do things last minute and panic that I'm not going to have something done in time lol. This time round it was Book Week and Friday the 8th the Eldest and Middle Son's School were haveing a dress up as a book character day to celebrate. Well Eldests wasn't to bad as I found a fab Robin Hood costume on Ebay which I got him and thankfully it arrived in time. I only had the week to get sorted lol unfortunantly Middle Son has a huge thing for penguins and so I went on a search to find a fab penguin costume and came across a pattern which unfortunantly didn't arrive until wednesday afternoon, which then I had to go and buy the fabric and get my sewing machine out too, that hadn't even seen the light of day since it had been bought 4yrs ago as a xmas prezzy from FIL lol So yah I only had Thursday to get it complete which was a challenge too as I hadn't sewn anything let alone used a pattern since I went to school, so after a day of tears and bad language and calling varius peeps for help I finally completed the body part at 2am which then I retired to bed to get back up at 7am to get the boys ready and finish the hood part which I ended up haveing to drop into the school when I completed. But after everything the costume came together and looks fab even if my stitches are rather wonkey in places lol the main thing is Middle Son absolutly loves it and is constantly wareing it when hes not at school, which has made makeing it all the more worth it :) Here are the photos I took of him showing it off :)

I decided to sign up to a team on UKscrappers to help get me more motivated to scrap. And I definantly say it's working and I have a bunch of wonderful ladies on my team :) Not long after our team was set up we were invited to a house team called Green Buttons and they were haveing a Cyber Crop which they said we could join in if we liked and so ok I didn't quite get round to joining in on the actual weekend but I'm now going through the classes. which I'll add to my blog as I complete them. I used a sheet of Blue Cardstock to make the main book and a sheet of patterned paper from the A Shore Thing Collection and The Penguin Dude Stamp from the same collection to decorate the book :) And the book is full of photos from My Birthday trip to Swanage.

Alix's Sketch Challenge

Finally got my Mojo back :) had a go at Alex's Sketch challenge over at http://creativechaos-alix.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-09-16T09%3A34%3A00%2B01%3A00&max-results=5 I had fun with this and also made use of scraps out of my left over box, so not sure what the papers are called that I used but they were together in a kit I got a while back so they went well together. I used black letter stickers for the title and for the top part of the title I mounted the letters to white cardstock and stuck them using 3D foam pads I also stuck the photos and bunting down with the 3D foam pads too to give some dimention :)

Bookmark Tutorial and Darlek Cake :)

Well it has been a while since I checked in and I do have an excuse, I went to the Scrap-a-mia Retreat in May and it was fantastic and I learnt so much but I think my Mojo must have got left behind as I just haven't been able to get motivated to Scrap. :( Think family life and Birthdays have taken alot of my time recently making me feel rather tired by the time the evening comes which is where I get most of my ME time. But I do have some things to share and I'm getting back in to Scrapping slowly.

Recently I have taken up reading which is the other reason I think my Scrapping slipped. I decided I needed a proper bookmark instead of my piece of notebook paper. So I asked on Ukscrappers for some inspiration and then decided to pull out my scrap paper and card box, my inks and embossing powders, along with my bigshot all of which hadn't seen light in some time.

I cut some Black Card which was rather thick in to the shape of a book mark

Then did the same to some Blue Card which was thinner but I cut it slightly smaller.

On the back of the black card I stamped a flourish stamp all over

Before it dried I poured Heat It Up Embossing Tinsel Silver and heat embossed it

On the Blue Card I did the same but on the front

I then stamped the flourish all over the Blue Card again on top of the heat embossed flourishes with Black Ink which gave a really nice effect

I then stuck the Blue Card peice on to the front of the Black Card.

Using an eyelet tool I put a hole in the top of the book mark and set an eyelet in place and tied some feathery Blue/White thread.

Next was the Butterflys, I used my Bigshot and a Butterfly Cut and Emboss Die and made two butterflys using white card.

I Inked the butterflys with Colour Box Pigment Brush Pad - Canary and Heat embossed them using Heat It Up Embossing Powder Silver Pearl

Just to give the Butterflys a little more sparkle I used Stickles - Crystal and put three Rhinestones along the body.

Last of all I stuck them on to the bookmark at angles using foam pads to give a little dimention.

Well I did say my time had been taken by Birthday's, September is a buisy first few weeks for us, first up it's My Birthday, then it's My middle son's Birthday and he was three this yr and adores trains especially Thomas The Tank Engine hence the cake, I hired a Train Tin, used Annabel Karmel's Cake Recipe and decorated it with different coloured Butter Icing using Pamperd Chef Icing Decorating Bottles and I added some little edible silver balls too :)

It's then my Eldest's Birthday, he was 7 this week and decided he wanted a Darlek theamed family Party so you guessed it I decided to have a go at making a 3d Darlek Cake. Here's a pic of me getting prepped lol, Toy Daleks at the side to get the idea of shape etc and three different size bowls which worked well.

I made three bowl cakes one of each size a small, medium and large and two sandwhich cakes along with three biscuits slightly larger than the smaller bowl circumfrance. I then put the cake together as is in the picture but with the biscuits inbetween the top layer the 2nd layer and 3rd layer and used butter icing to hold it all together.

To decorate I used blue Butter Icing but the blue food dye didn't come out all that blue lol, I used 3 Rolos, 1 Chocolate finger, pack of Malteasers, Liquirish Swirls but opened and Chocolate Strands. Oh and my mini Hot Choccy wisk

End result an edible Darlek which looked fab :)

Digi 365 and Scrap-a-mia

I have quite a bit to share but you will have to bare with me as I'm in the process of trying to send all my documents from my old laptop to my new one lol.

Firstly here are my P365 LOs I have fallen behind yet again lol and still got
another 2 to 3 LOs to do til Im upto date. The following LO I used Chrissy W's Photo a Day set 3 template and the Spinky Dink's Forget me Not Alpha and All Good Things papers.

1st 7th May - I used Chrissy W's A Photo a Day Set 3 and Spinky Dink's Forget Me Not Alpha and Spinky Spanky paper and embellishments

8th - 14th May - I used Chrissy W's A Photo A Day template and then Spinky Dink's Forget Me Not Alpha and All Good Things Papers.

And as I like Saving the best til last -
Scrap-a-mia
Next up Scrap-A-Mia Retreat, one word sums up the entire weekend for me and that is Awsome :) I enjoyed every minute of it and meeting all the designers which I had heard so much about but never met was fantastic. Every one was so friendly and the classes were absolutly fabulous. I will post piccys of my LOs etc once I have completed them as some still need a few bits added. But I promise I will post soon. To keep you going though I have some photos of me with some of the designers and some photos of the Retreat's location at the Devere Hotel, New Place, Hampshire.

I went for a wander on the Saturday lunch time and found a little forest walk and as I love looking up at the trees to see the different colours of greens and the light that manages to creep through the gaps of leaves I thought I'd take a photo. It turned out really nice.

Just a quick post today. I been playing catch up on my Project 365 LOs again. Below is my 5th - 11th of April LO, No templates used this time, I used Lyndsey Riches Squeaky Clean Kit and Spinky Dink's Forget Me Not Alpha.

12th - 18th April I used A Photo a Day set 3 and Spinky Dink's Forget me not alpha and papers and All Good Things Papers.

19th - 25th April LO was done using Chrissy W's A Photo A Day Set 3 and Spinky Dink's Forget Me Not Alpha and All Good Things Papers.

Card & Create 10 LO

Just a card and LO today to share, Firstly here is a card that I made that I'm hoping to send to a family relative of mine to say sorry that I haven't been in touch for along time and to thank them for coming my Wedding. I made it using some scraps of card and papers I had and a Rachelle Anne Miller Stamp (not sure the name of the actual stamp).

I'm not so great at stamping so went over the image with a black Sukura Pen and coloured it in with a a normal colour pencils nothing fancy lol.

And last of all my LO for the Create 10 class 4.

Mine turned out rather differently from the class and think I still need to add a title or something as it looks rather simple and plain at the moment. I drew around a sheet of Bo Bunny Persuasion Foeever Die Cut on to some green cardstock, then using a craft knife cut it out and used the frame it left, if that makes sence. I then drew fake stitching using my Black Sukura Pen.

I used strips of paper and one piece of ribbon above :) didnt have any fabric at the time of making so thought paper would be just as good.

I followed the instructions to make the clothes line and then trying to make them stand out a little I used my Black Sukura Pen again and drew outlines around each of the t-shirts.

I'm not sure my paper flower worked out to well, I didnt have any fabric and even though I had some unused dish cloths I thought I'd have a go with paper lol. I added a button though to the middle to neaten it up.

I still got class 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 to do but I'll get there. Just been pre-occupied with other things the past few days lol. Also got to catch up on my P365 again as I have fallen behind again :(

Create 10 Frame

Day 3 of the Create 10 & heres my attempt of the 3rd class :) It's not very often I work with girly colours, but have had this adorable photo of my neice for a while sat on the side desperate to make a LO with but had no idea where to start lol.

There is one thing I am loving bout these classes and that is it's getting me to use up scraps lol I used a ready made chipboard frame and covered it in a couple of scraps of paper which I tore up and dotted about and then covered in Glossy Accents. I also used Acetate to protect the photo.

I copied the doodle template that was included with the class instructions on to card and instead of covering with paper I covered in ribbon (like in the previous class.) as I loved the effect.

I made some tissue paper flowers following the instructions and amazed at how they turned out as this was my first try. I covered them in stickles too to give them a little sparkle :)

I made some adjustments to the class to suit me but still learnt alot. And happy with how it turned out :).

Penguin LO and Digi 365

I'm loveing the holidays at the moment, ok house work isn't getting any where but my scrapbooking is lol. I have finally caught up with my project 365 :) I'm so happy as I felt like giving up and almost did. But before I share them here is a paper layout I did yesterday, I set myself the challenge to use some black and white patterned papers that I have had sat in the cupboard for quite some time. I quite like how it turned out and it's different from the normal for me.

On to my Project 365, I'm likeing how my project is progressing :)
March 15th - 21st, 22nd - 28th and 29th - 21st LOs I used a template from Chrissy Ws A Photo a Day Template set, Spinky Dink's Forget Me Not Alpa and embellishments, Spinky Spanky kit embellisments and the papers were from Lyndsey Riches Squeaky Clean Kit.

For the following LO I used papers from Lindsey Riches Squeaky Clean kit and embellishments from spinky Dink's All Good Things and Spinky Spanky Kits. And the Alph is from Spinky Dink's Forget Me Not and I used a template by scrapmuss, I basically deleted the layers I didn't want to create something different. :)

I'm not sure how much scrapping I will get done in the next couple of days as I must concentrate on getting some house work done lol.

Quite a bit to share today :) . Been on a roll with completing LOs. But first I want to show off a LO I started and finished today - It's a Snowy one of my youngest and his first play in the snow. I love this photo of him.

for this LO I used a pale blue sparkly Bazzil Card, 2 small fabric flowers and 1 large paper flower cut in half, a couple of felt flowers with a gem in the middle, Some blue lace, felt snow flake ribbon, Silver Rhine Stones and some white card punched Snow flakes.

I used some Star Dust Stickles to add a bit of sparkle to the Snow Flakes and used some silver sparkly stickers for the middle of them.

I also added some Star Dust Stickles to the flowers too.

In the middle of the felt Snow flakes I added silver Rhine Stones.

Here's my completed LO using the Ukscrappers Cyber Crop Mystery Kit, has taken me a while to complete which is rather sad as all I had to do to is add a title. The photo is of my Middle Son when he was under a yr old.

Next up is my LO I did at a Crop I go to in Wilton. One of the ladys there kindly did a class for us and here is is my take on it.

It was the first time I had used Border Punches which I have to say I was impressed how easy they were to use and the effect they gave was brillient. I used a punch to create the tags and flowers and added some Rhine Stones to the centre of the flowers to give some sparkle and for the title I used some chipboard letters that were already decorated.

Next up is a couple of my LOs very simple ones though and didn't take long to make I had hoped to make them more 3D and look a bit more creative but I had lost my mojo lol so finished them off today as best as I could.

The above LO is of Oscar in a Tree at a Park in Salisbury. And the bottom Photos are of Todd in the same Tree in the same Park. The photos remind me of Edward in the tree in Twilight lol.

Last of all is a couple of LOs My Middle Son Oscar made using his Scrapbook kit that I got him from the ELC. His first LO is of his Sunflower from last Summer.

He enjoyed doing these so he may have caught the Scrapping Bug lol, We will see.

I finally completed my Valentines Present for hubby and ok I'm definantly late in giving it to him, but they say it's the thought that counts lol. He liked it thankfully. So what did I make him, I hear you ask lol well here it is:

I put the date of our Wedding on the front page as Hubby isn't the best at remembering special dates so thought it would be a good reminder.

I found this Verse on Ukscrappers I think and liked it since before our wedding and saved it to use for a project like this. :)

I made him a little wedding album using the Kaisercraft heart Designer album and Kaisercraft Love Struck Papers. For the writing I used my black Sukura Pen and add some odd bits of Ribbon that I had spare and some Red and Blue Rhinestones. I stuck the writing on to foam pads so as they'd stand out. :)

I haven't really been doing any Scrapping or altering this month as I have been desperatly trying to get my house looking smarter. :(
hopefully I will manage to get some time before this month is up to get some bits complete. I'm two weeks behind on my P365 already, but thankfully I have some notes and some photos so shouldn't take me long to russel up a couple of Layouts. Hope to catch up over the weekend at some point.

First up are my Project 365 Layouts, I admit I had been falling behind but have spent today catching up. Will hopefully post the first week of March's Layout at the end of the day tomorrow. Layout Feb 18 - 21 I used Spinky Dink's Forget me not kit and Chrissy Ws Photo A Day Template.

For the Feb 22nd - 28th Layout I used Chrissy W's Photo A Day Template and Spinky Dink's All Good Things Kit.

Now my Kaisercraft Paper Storage Unit :) I decided to make mine using the La Di Da Papers and Mauve Kaiser Paint and Lime Kaiser Paint and Rhinestones. All of which I bought from Merly Impressions :)

I had hoped to do some 3D effect on the sides but unfortunantly the images were larger on the La Di Da Skip papers than the La Di Da Hop paper that I wanted to use. So I used the Hop paper and added Rhinestones for the centres of the flowers. And to behonest I think it was for the best that the sides turned out this way as it ment I didn't have to worry so much bout bits on the side being damaged as the side has remained flat.

Here is My Kaisercraft Paper Storage Unit finished and all my papers that had been stored Pizza Boxes till now.

Now Im going to look into storage for my embellishments etc that I have currently stored to the brim in draws.

Just a quick post today, the first and second week LOs for my Project 365. Feel like something is missing on my first week of feb LO like something needs to be added like a journal spot or something as the Title doesn't stand out really.

I like this LO even though I did miss out on the day 14 journalling, but by the time I realised, I couldn't see a way of fitting the journalling in. But I don't mind.

I'm working on my LO for last week, I have been suffering Crafters Block and motivation to get crafting :( but think its going now, well hope so :)

Just finished a Halloween page using Boo-tiful Spook by Jady Day. When I saw this kit I knew I had to get it :)

I haven't much to share at the moment, My time has been taken up recently remaking Digital LOs that I made a long time ago when I firsted out as they are wrong resolution and size to get printed. Going through redoing them all hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be lol. Its been nice going through old kits and on some of the LOs looking at them now I dont feel they were worthy of getting printed so its been nice improving them :).

Heres a couple of new LOs one being the last 3 days of January for p365.

This LO kind of looks out of place with the other 365 LOs I have made but I like it :) I made it useing Spinky Dinks - Spinky Spank Kit and All Good Things Kit and Biograffiti's project 365 Simple Salution Jan 2010 Dates part of the kit.

The Other LO I have done is this one below using Spinky Dink's Unforgettable kit. The photo is of my 3 boys haveing a cuddle on the sofar :)

Just a quick post with my p365 page made using Chrissy W's photo a day template. For some reason my Week starts Friday and ends on the Thursday for my LOs lol. But anyway I'm pleased with the fact I have been able to keep up so far :)

I hope to have some more Craft projects uploaded over the next few days as I have just managed to print off a load of photos :) And I have also managed to get on to my computer and transfer everything to my portable Hard Drive so I have easier access to everything, also Hubby is going to help me back everything up to cd as well :)

Got a few bits to share today :) Firstly here is my 2nd week of my P365

For this LO I used another of Chrissy's Photo A Day kit and Bigraffiti's Simple Salutions P365 Kit dates. I can't remember which kit I got the papers from. (note to self, must write the names of bits I use as I go lol)

Here is my feedback from CJ regarding my end product for the 12 Days of Xmas course :) I have decided that I do need to invest in a better camera as in some ways I feel my camera is what holds me back to getting photos :( .

And Finally my Kaisercraft Crate I loved making this and impressed on how it turned out. It took me half a day to make. I used Love Struck Papers - St Valentine and Sweet Heart.

I used Kaisercraft Blue and Silver packs of Rhinestones to put down the sides and top of the crate and in the middle of the flowers. I love adding bling.

The ribbon I chose out of a bundle I have so I'm not sure on the name of the manufacture sorry but I put one length round the bottom and tied some on the handles.

I cut out the shapes and flowers from the St Valentines Paper and made them 3D using foam pads.

I'm really proud of myself too apart from buying the Crate from Chrissy at Merly Impressions I used left over scraps that I had left over from another project I have been doing. Which is almost complete just need to get some photos printed for it. Hope to have finished really soon. :)

I have had such a fab Day today, I actually managed to venture out to Wilton to go to a new Scrapbooking crop that started today, it was brillient. Cleo Jarvis http://www.cleos-undomesticatedscrappingbliss.blogspot.com/ Kindly put a fantastic kit together with instructions on how to make some LOs as she was unable to make the group personally. I will show my LOs soon, just need to add the photos. But have to say I managed to get 3 LOs ready so watch this space.

I been mooching this evening on DST http://www.digishoptalk.com looking at the kits out and came across Lindsey Jane at Pickleberrypop's kit Winter Frost. I fell in love with it when I saw it, I love the colours and for anyone that knows me I'm always drawn to blue and sparkly silvers and blues lol.

And here is my LO :) I used my Photo Triptych that I did for Cheryl Johnson's 12 days of xmas course. I'm quite proud as I didn't use a template, I made the layout from scratch :)

Oh and how could I almost forget? My Holidays In Hand Digital LOs arrived that I submitted to DS Colour Labs and they are Fantastic I'm really pleased with them and have a feeling I will be getting another order in real soon.

My Husband had a look at them and says he prefers Digi to paper scrapping he likes the fact they are flat and can be put in a album and not have to worry about bits falling off. (He doesn't do Scrapbooking, it's his preference after seeing my digi and paper LOs). As for me to be honest I can't make up my mind which I prefer. I suppose I have been more drawn to Digi, but I think it's because its easier to set up and put aside if need be which helps when you have children about. I tend to do paper scrapping when I know that I'm not going to get interupted all the time and have to worry about keeping bits away from the kids.

Hello, Ok the 12 Days Of Xmas Photography course ended last night well it was the last day to upload end product which was to choose your 6 fave photos from the course. I have to say I haven't got that far :( I have managed to do 11 out of the 12 assignments. Which ok isn't to bad, as I have been rather buisy. but I really had hoped I'd complete the course in time.

I had a play today with making a Triptych using photos of my youngest in the snow. There is fab tutorial here which I found really useful - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVhIASG5gp0 I used 3 seperate photos where in the tutorial he uses 1 landscape photo. I love my Triptych, I think it came out really well :) .

And here are my photos for another assignment taking pics of candles which I took last night. I made the room pitch black, lit a candle set my camera to macro, Tungsten, ISO 100 and took close up shots with the flash off. They came out rather well.

Had a play at Bright Dancing the other night for another of the assignments, that was fun. just a camera and torch needed. :)

I have finally put in my order to DS Colour Labs - http://www.dscolourlabs.co.uk/index.cfm After a few phone calls as to them my LOs were ready to be put through. They were so helpful when I called they talked me through what I needed to do so I could get the best quality prints from my LOs. I'm so excited and they should be here in the next day or so.

Well I thought I'd give a little tutorial in how to get LOs ready for printing. I hope the following is helpful and its quite simple really. Click on my pictures to make them a little bigger if you need too.

I'm using photoshop Elements 8 to make my layouts and have to say I have only just taught myself how to make a LO with out a template which is the LO below. (may do a tutorial for setting up your page in a bit if your lucky lol)

Heres the finished LO I just did for this Tutorial. The Following Tutorial is for 12 x 12 Layouts.

So you have finished your LO here is what your screen should look like.

At the top left click on Image > Resize > Image Size Alt+ctrl+l

The following box should appear, In the Document Size Section click the cm and change to Inches. So then Make sure the Width and Height read 12 and the resolution reads 300 (this is the DPI and shouldnt be any higher or lower) once done click on ok.

Next go to the top again left click on Image then click on Covert Colour profile then click on to Covert to sRGB profile

You can now save your LO as a Jpeg and once saved if you go and find your saved Jpeg on your computer and right click then on the list left click on properties, right click on the heading details then the following should be the same

Dimentions 3600x3600
Width 3600 pixels
Height 3600 pixels
Horizontal Resolution 300 dpi
Vertical Resolution 300 dpi
Bit depth 24
Resolution Unit 2

Colour Representaion sRGB

The highlighted is important but if you follow the tutorial you jpeg should have these stats and they will be ready to upload to DS Colour Labs anyways not sure about other companies as I haven't looked in to them. Hope the above helps and works for you.

Firstly I would like to say Happy New Yr to everyone who reads my blog and hope you all have a fantastic yr. I have a feeling this is going to be a good yr for me :) I got tickets for Kelly Clarkson concert in Feb for xmas so can't wait for then, My folks have paid for me to go on the Scrap-a-mia 2010 retreat which is at New Place, Shirell Heath Southampton on the 22nd - 23rd of May for an xmas present and then in September my middle son should be starting school as long as we can get him potty trained in time so thats one challenge for now till then.

Talking of Challenges I have been having a look at all the challenges being posted on the forums and thinking of having ago at the following -

All I can say is wow to my new Pampered Chef Mini Muffin Tray and Minni Tart Shaper, definantly a best buy :) I love it. I decided to make some Mini Mince Pies to take to my folks for xmas.

I used my Pampered Chef Mini Cutters to make the stars for the tops, Which were a perfect size.

Nice golden colour after being cooked :)

2 packs of Short Crust Pastry and 2 Jars of Mince meat and 68 mince pies later (ok a few were snacked on along the way lol). Below pic is of the first batch I made :)

Here are a couple more HIH LOs, Only 9 days behind but I'm determined to catch up. And this last week I have done well taking photos during the day and adding pics and writing in the evening. I have to say my HIH has kind of turned into a Diary of December 2009.

Had some fab news yesterday, I won the Rusty Pickle Rak over on Sarah's blog which can be found here http://smellyblog-slcarrington.blogspot.com/ I'm looking forward to the arrival of the Shazaam Papers I have won.

Have managed to get another 3 LOs done for my HIH, I'm really likeing how the LOs are all turning out, I can't wait to have them all completed so I can get them printed in to a book.

I have finally finnished my Kaisercraft Advent Calendar. Better late than never lol. At least it's ready for next year. I ended up using wooden letters for the Count Down To Xmas title instead of a LO in the middle which is what I wanted to do originally but my boys wouldn't co-oporate in getting a good christmas photo.

I painted the wooden letters in blue acrylic paint and then gave each letter a coat of fine silver glue like Stickles to give them a bit of sparkle.

I painted the wooden trees in green acrylic paint and added some addiesive stones.

And I painted the wooden presents with blue acrylic paint and added some a hint of silver glitter glue and some adiesive stones.

I'd like to say once again a huge thank you to Chrissy (http://www.MerlyImpressions.co.uk) for putting together a kit for me and getting it to me so quickly.

Had another attempt at trying to get a photo of Bokeh and I think I've got (well I'm hoping I have lol.) The second photo of the snowman aunament and lights in the background is my favourite and I also love the colours and effect in the 3rd and 4th photo.

I'm getting there with my Holidays in Hand LOs, got some LOs still to do from the beginning of December which unfortunantly I don't have any photos but thinking of doing pages based on prompts for them. Also got a couple of LOs waiting to be done, just need to get the photos from hubby's phone. Here are my next batch of HIH LOs.

Had ago at filling my Holidays In Hand pages with writing and photos. I'm kinda doing a diary of each day to include our preps for xmas and on the days I don't have photos or the day was rather boring eg just house work lol I'm going to try and include the prompts but they wont be in order, I'm trying to make the class fit in with my everyday life so we have some kind of record of things we did in Dec 09 to the lead up of christmas if that makes sence. Here are the pages I have done so far. Got a couple to do tonight, just need to get my photos together.

I decided to have a go at Assignment 6 Festive Walk again so here are my photos

I think out of the three greenery photos the one below would have to be my fave as I love how the snow has settled on top of the hedge, kind of reminds me of cakes sprinkled with iceing sugar. I also love the colours.

I took this one of my Youngest too, though I don't think it fits in with the assignment but it was taken of him whilst on our walk to pick my middle son up.

More Photos for my Course.

Below is Day 5 - Get in Shape - basically takeing some photos of people. Well you can guess who my subjects were...yep you got it my boys. Unfortunantly their attention span didn't last long so it was a quick photo shoot.

I love the middle photo best though it's really supposed to be a group shot, for that one the bottom one would have to be the best one. Just wish my eldest had been looking in the right direction lol

Day 6 - Festive Walk, Ok this was getting out and about and taking pics. these were photos I took a little before the actual course started and liked them so I submitted.

Day 7 - Razzel Dazzel - Basically to get the hang of takeing photos of Bokeh. I was finding this rather hard. But have been told I can't really perfect this techneque by takeing shots of rope lights which is what I had been doing. I was takeing photos of my next door neighbours xmas lights that are decorating the outside of their house.

I think this is the best photo of what I think Bokeh is supposed to look like

I have to say this photo didn't come out like it was supposed to but I kike it, it looks funky :)

The Course has actually finished but we have to the 6th of Jan to practice and submit a collage of 6 of our favourite workshop Images from the 12 moduals. I personally am glad we have more time before putting forward our End Product, one for the fact I have already fallen behind but 2 I really do need a lot more practice. I don't really feel my camera is that good and that's the reason I'm not getting as good pictures dispite changing settings etc. I'd love to look in to getting a DSLR or something. My Camera seems to be a lot better at taking photos outside than anywhere.

My latest Wire Work as promised. My course has come to an end. Tomorrow is the last day and I have to go in and hand my portfolio over to be assessed, thankfully I dont have to hand the sculptures. My portfolio is a record of how my sculptures have developed and comments on difficulties I found and Ideas I had along the way. Well here is my Cat.

Here's my Festive Portrait photos I took for CJ's photography course. I'm not keen on taking pics of myself there's always something I don't like.

Day 1 Balancing Act was playing with the WB Settings with Flash on and off. The pictures for this Assignment are in the past few posts as Uploaded them as I did them. I learn't that with the type of light we have in our house Tungsten is the best setting to haveing on indoors. And I'm finding I'm always playing with the WB settings before taking a photo where as before I had kept my camera set to WB Auto and Auto Flash.

Day 2 Spell It Out - Assignment to take a photo that speaks to the viewer.

I took this photo at Tescos whilst waiting for some photos to be printed. This was only a quick go so I'm sure when time is on my side I could do better.

Day 3 Custom and Practice. The assignment was to try some photographic rules and breaking them. Have to say I don't think I quite got it but these were the photos I submitted, they were of my youngest making xmas cards at a Christmas Crafts course were attending.

I set my Camera to Auto Flash and WB Tungsten but the photos came out rather yellow. Need more practice. I like the angle of the shot though in the first picture.

Day 4 Illuminations. Assignment to try and take some photos of pretty lights. Here's my attempt and personally I don't feel I did too well. The following were taken with Auto Flash On and WB set to Cloudy

As you can see they didn't come out very well especially the cable lol. The following are take with Auto Flash Set to Off and WB set to Cloudy

again with Auto Flash off and set to WB Cloudy. But I wobbled the camera by accident but love the effect lol.

Ok and this is where I got left behind :( and it was only a 12 day course. I'm hoping to play catch up over the next few days. I have my assignments and info to refer back to saved on my computer :)

Day 1 - Playing around with WB settings. The following were taken using the Fill setting and Flash On. Again not sure on a favourite, they have all turned out very similar. I suppose Day Light or Fluorescent worked the best if I had to choose.

Cheryl Johnson's Twelve Days of Christmas Workshop

Here's my attempt to day one, had a play with my camera with the WB settings - Cloudy, Tungsten, Fuorescent, Day Light and Auto. These Images were done with the flash off.
Tungstan I think was the best setting with the light I had in my living room this evening.

Will probably make a start on the filling in over the weekend, as I have a few other projects that need my attention. I've got to catch up on three prompts for Cheryal Johnsons 12 day Photography Course, I will explain more in my next post. I have a cat and owl wire sculpture to complete by Tuesday next week and got to do the middle of my Calendar though its useable as is lol.

Here's my Eleventh, Twelfth and Thirteenth Holidays in Hand pages. So 13/25 LOs done lol. I will get there lol. I'm actually shocked on how many LOs I've completed using only two kits, it's a record for me. :)

Made Mince Pies yesterday with my boys and a friend, have to say they tasted great but looked a little like road kill mince pies after the difficulty we had getting them out of the trey lol. Today me and my friend helped the boys make some Christmas Cards, My eldest was definantly on a roll with his. They were really simple for the boys to make. I bought a pack of 40 sheets of card for a £1 and a bundle of wrapping paper and 2 extra sheets for £1.24, So all in all a bargain and we helped the boys cut the pictures they wanted to use and helped fold the card ready for the boys to stick their pictures on. My eldest also attempted some writting which was fab. We will be continueing with some more makes as the days go by in our prep for xmas :) And when I get the chance I'll post some piccys.

Heres my next bunch of Holidays in Hand template. Thinking of doing up to the 25th Dec 09 and decide then whether I want to do the whole month when I get there. So another 15 templates to do lol. All the following LO's are made using the same kits as stated in my last post.

I have recieved some really nice comments over on Jessica Sprague's Holiday in Hands forum which is really helping to keep me motivated to continue with this project.

Decided to make a Start on my Holidays In Hand templates and managed five LOs tonight. I decided to do my pages Digi in the end, partly because I haven't any 8x8 bazzil cardstock and as I'm trying to save money digi seemed the way to go. I made the following LOs using Scrapberry Design's Tinsel Town, Loriem Design's Christmas Cuddles and Jessica Sprague's 12x12 template and numbers. I will be using the above kits for the rest of my album. I'm teaching myself Photoshop Elements 8 so quite please with what I've done so far.

I have almost completed my Kaisercraft Calendar which is looking fab. And I would like to say a huge thankyou to Chrissy at Merly Impressions for putting together a kit and including the Kaisercraft project sheet and some ideas. The kit arrived the following and my calendar came at the same time so I was able to get started right away :) Just got the middle to decorate and then I will post a piccy.
